Why people ask for embroidery
Habit: a chevron, a polo with thread, "so it looks serious". On a heavy jacket and a knit polo a stitch really looks different from ink. We do not run that shop. If you need thread, that is another contractor. If you need a recognisable mark on cloth, it is printed.
What we put instead of a stitch
A flat mark on a run of identical pieces is screen printing, ink in the fibre, no shine. A colour or short run is DTF, film with an underbase on a dark base. A short name and a number are vinyl, cut film. None of these copies a stitch one for one, and we do not call print embroidery.
Where print is easier than thread
A tiny crest in thread on a thin tee stands up and itches. Ink or film lies flatter. Thread will not build a photo or a gradient at all. DTF will. Ten identical logos on a screen are usually faster than setting each chevron by hand, but we will not compare lead times with someone else's embroidery shop. We do not have one.
What to write in the request
Write "we need a logo on the shirts", not only the word embroidery. Attach the file. If the stitch itself is the point, we will say at once that we do not take it, and we will not push the art into print against your wish.
