Vinyl or DTF — When to Use Which

Vinyl and DTF are often confused. Both transfer via heat press but work differently. When to use which.

Vinyl — Sharp Edges

Plotter-cutting of colored film. Uniform numbers, name lettering, simple logos. Perfectly straight lines. 30+ colors: matte, glossy, metallic, reflective. Not for photos or gradients.

DTF — Any Design

Full-color image on film transferred to fabric. Photos, illustrations, gradients — unlimited colors. On simple elements vinyl looks sharper.

When to Choose What

Numbers → vinyl. Logo 1–2 colors → vinyl. Photo → DTF. Illustration → DTF. Reflective → vinyl.

Summary

Vinyl for text and simple shapes. DTF for everything else. We work with both.
