A print on a t-shirt — how to order your own artwork

A print on a t-shirt is your artwork on cloth, not a shop tee with someone else's graphic. We look at the file and the quantity first, then pick the method. One photo tee and ten identical logos are different jobs, and that is normal.

What counts as your print

Your print is the file you send: an illustration, a photo, a mark, a line of words. We do not drop in a random stock picture. If the art does not exist yet, describe the job and send a reference, but we print an approved file, not a spoken "something like this". The same file looks different on a white shirt and a black one. On a dark base a colour image needs an underbase, or the colour sinks.

DTF when the picture is one-off or complex

DTF prints the image on film and heat-presses it onto the shirt. There is no stencil per colour, so a photo, a gradient and fine detail start from one piece. That is how people order a sample, a gift, or a batch where every shirt is different. The film sits as a flexible layer. On very thin or very stretchy cloth we say in advance whether the edge of the print will pull the fabric.

Screen printing when the shirts match

If ten or more shirts carry one flat mark in one to six colours, a stencil makes sense. The mesh is made for that file, the ink goes into the cotton, and a repeat uses the same artwork. A photo and a smooth gradient do not belong on a screen. Those stay on DTF. Do not push a single shirt through screen printing just because it sounds more serious.

Where the print sits

The usual place is the chest or the centre of the back, away from a seam or a pocket. The edge should not run into the sleeve seam: film and ink crack there first. Measure the size on the actual shirt, not by eye from a photo. A small chest mark reads as a sign. A large front print starts to behave like a poster.

A file we can print

A PNG with a transparent background, a PDF, or a vector is fine. DTF needs real resolution: a tiny phone JPEG stretched across the chest turns to mush. Lines thinner than a hair disappear on cloth. Check the spelling in the file before we print. We do not rewrite your text unless you ask. Screen colour and ink on cotton are not the same number, and that shows on a dark base.

Washing and how to order

Wash inside out, keep bleach off the print, and do not iron the picture. A rack is calmer than a hot tumble cycle. Message @dkretov on Telegram or call +998 90 349 03 64 with the file, the shirt colour, the print size and the quantity. Say whether the shirts are yours or ours. Finished pieces are picked up in Sergeli or sent across the city once the box is packed.

Summary

A print on a t-shirt starts with the file and the count. A complex picture and a single piece go through DTF. The same flat mark on a run goes through screen printing. Send the artwork and we will say which path is shorter for that image.
