How to Prepare Artwork for Apparel Printing — Choice Print Guide

Good artwork is half the battle. A blurry or poorly prepared file gives poor results even on the best equipment. Here's how to prepare files for DTF and screen printing.

Format and Resolution

Send artwork as PNG, PDF, AI or PSD with transparent background. Minimum 300 DPI at actual print size. For A4 chest print that's roughly 2480×3508 px. Vector format (AI, SVG, EPS) is ideal for logos — scales without quality loss.

Colors and Contrast

DTF prints in CMYK but accepts RGB — we convert ourselves. For screen printing, specify Pantone colors if brand accuracy matters. Light print on dark fabric — add white underbase. Avoid lines thinner than 0.5 mm — they may disappear.

Size and Placement

Standard zones: chest A4 (28×20 cm), back A3 (40×30 cm), sleeve A6. Specify print placement. Leave 2–3 cm margin from seams — otherwise part of the design may fall under stitching. We check artwork free and suggest fixes.
